Since 1864, HIGHFIELD has had its doors open for hundreds of guests in the East Yorkshire area. Although we’ve had a few different looks, we’re still the same HIGHFIELD that is here for a place of relaxation and to give you that well-deserved break.
In our Yorkshire hotel, we offer 12 places to stay, varying in sizes, functionality and looks. These luxury rooms, apartments and suites range from romantic weekend aways to a room big enough for the entire family. It all just depends on what you are looking for in your HIGHFIELD stay.

Romantic Weekend Away
What better way to have a romantic night away than a room that has a romantic history? In 2013, our owner, Andy, nervously proposed to Lindsay. And, of course, you can guess what her answer was. HIGHFIELD’s grounds reminded the couple of the beautiful Gramercy Park, which is where he went down on one knee. In honour of that special occasion, the Gramercy Suite was born!
Added extras include a bespoke hand-crafted super king-sized bed, a four-piece bathroom with a roll-top bath and various seats to enjoy the incredible view. Perfect for any romantic weekend away.
Family Time
Yorkshire is such a vast and rich county. There is so much to see and experience as a family. So, why not experience HIGHFIELD as a full set? As a family-driven business, we ensure to make our facilities available to all ages! And that’s no exception for our family-friendly hotel suites.
So, whilst the parents have their own space to relax away in our Study luxury room, the kids have a connecting room to play and explore in our quirky Loft 5 room.
Both hidden treasures, the Study was once the old servant’s quarters. Now, transformed into a hidden retreat, complete with a super king-sized bed and 4-piece bathroom. Whilst, the kids can enjoy two unique-styled single beds and a full line of books to choose from.
Unique Aesthetic
Who wants to settle for the ordinary? A night away from home should be celebrated in quirky settings and new experiences. So, look no further than HIGHFIELD!
Our Sketch suite is inspired by the famous West End restaurant and celebrity hang-out. And though we can’t promise you’ll meet an array of artists and actors, we can assure you that you have a cosy night in. Complete with a king-sized bed and full bathroom, why not book the room for one of our luxurious events? Coming later in August, we are hosting a 7 course tasting evening on the 26th. With the amount of food you’ll be eating, you’ll wish you had a comfy bed at your (or our) doorstep!
Celebrate History
For all you history buffs, did you know our Yorkshire hotel is packed full of history? Starting its life as a mill in the 1800s, after a freak storm, HIGHFIELD was damaged and put out of work. However, following a new owner in 1882, gothic architecture was introduced into the house and was renovated into a hotel. And that rich history is shown in all our suites and luxury rooms.
We define it as “Jacobean meets Batman”, so you know it ticks a lot of boxes! The 1610 suite has an antique four-poster king-sized bed and its lantern window looks over the 8 acres of woodlands at your disposal.
