How to Have a Gothic Wedding This Halloween

As soon as we leave behind the sun and our shorts, it can only mean one thing. Must be the season of the witch… People are replacing their iced coffees with pumpkin-spiced lattes and getting their favourite horror films on repeat. And a gothic wedding is the perfect opportunity to incorporate these themes with your own style as you say Till Death Do Us Part.

So, let’s take a look at ways you can transform your big day into a gothic wedding this Halloween.

Black Wedding Aesthetic

The best thing about a gothic wedding is there’s an easy colour palette to follow. And black goes with anything.

Whether this is through a black wedding cake instead of the traditional white, or even featuring black and dark coloured flowers as centrepieces on the tables. There are so many opportunities to highlight the gothic theme throughout the ceremony.

The Addams Family

The most iconic Halloween couple. They set the precedent of the gothic couple, with their sleek black clothes and the husband overtly adoring his wife. No question, Morticia and Gomez are style icons. With so much style and class, it’s no wonder why so many married couples-to-be pay homage to their own gothic wedding style.

At HIGHFIELD, our Yorkshire hotel features various gothic architecture features. Particularly with its exterior decor of black and white. So, why not utilise this for your own Addams Family-styled wedding? We have amazing photographers that are able to capture your best angles and put a spotlight on the themes you are wanting to capture.

With this theme in mind, there are so many possibilities. A black wedding dress that showcases an hourglass figure? Or pinstriped suits for all the groomsmen? Whatever your preferences are, HIGHFIELD is the perfect setting.

HIGHFIELD Events

But, it’s not just a gothic wedding we cater for… We also host our very own events for all ages and occasions. Including Halloween. On the Friday before Halloween, we have not just one, but two Halloween-themed events to enjoy!

Kids Halloween Ball

With the kids breaking up for half term, what are you supposed to do with the little ghouls? Especially when trying to find entertainment during the Halloween season. So, before trick or treating starts, why not come down and attend our Kids’ Halloween Ball? Packed full of activities that are sure to scare and delight them.

On Friday the 28th of October, we have two sessions full of various surprises for children of all ages. For £25 per person, included in the price is a comprehensive menu and photo opportunities with all your favourite villains.

Rocky Horror House Party

It’s just a jump to the left…

On Friday the 28th of October, at HIGHFIELD, we are here to celebrate all things quirky and spooky with our Rocky Horror House Party! Throughout the year, we make sure to host unique events for our guests to eat, dance and drink.

For £39 per person, included in the price is a live band rocking until late and our guests will be greeted on arrival with a lovely glass of prosecco! Come in your Gladrags and best Halloween costumes. You get extra points if you embody Dr Frank-N-Furter himself!
