Speedy Steam Romance

July 1938 - the Mallard breaks the steam rail speed record by travelling 126mph through Stoke Bank...Meanwhile, a little further down the lines, a small boy called Douglas is building a dream railway in the attic of Highfield. Live the childhood dream of steam choo-choo!

Nestled on the second floor in the eaves of the roof, this ‘extra’ fun bedroom has views over the garden and towards the woodland where you are at eye level with the top of the trees.

Once home to a magnificent train set some years ago, this gave the perfect lead to the design of the room.  Painted in Mallard blue with train carriage inspired details throughout this room is super fun and cosy.

The heritage of the room is shown within the exposed timber ceiling beams and quaint leaded windows.  The design features a super-king bed within a fully upholstered niche and a carriage wardrobe dressing wall complete with a model train running around the top!

The free standing cast iron bath sits comfortably at the end of the bathroom area open to the bedroom.  The bathroom boasts a vintage carriage inspired basin area, large shower and a fully enclosed loo.
