THE WOLD RANGERS WAY

FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE WOLD RANGERS

Alongside several established long distance routes, such as the Wolds Way, Minster Way, Wilberforce Way, the Wold Rangers Way is the latest long distance pathway to be created. It has been created specifically to retrace the life and times of the Rangers, a nomadic tribe of gentlefolk of yesteryear who trod the ancient green lanes and bridleways of the spectacular Wolds of East Yorkshire.

Grade 2 listed Highfield Hotel is minutes from the start of the Wold Rangers Way. We offer unique, luxurious accommodation & fabulous cuisine as the perfect opportunity to indulge and relax after your adventure.  Although some 'seasoned rangers' set out at 4am to complete the entire 44-mile long route in one very long day, we recommend a minimum three days with three nights’ stay if you wish to complete the entire walk. We can offer advice on a sequence of five self-guided circular walks which together cover the entire route in stages.

Highfield promises to be the very best antidote to the physical exertions of your walk. Start your day with a hearty breakfast, enjoy a custom packed lunch and look forward to a relaxing bath, an exquisite evening meal, thirst quenching Wold Top ales, fine wines and, most essentially, restorative sleep in your choice of six individually styled, boutique bedrooms. Sweet dreams are made of this and The Wold Rangers Way, combined with a stay at HIGHFIELD, will fulfil your dreams!
